Flea and Tick Repellent for Dogs

Finding a safe and natural flea and tick repellent for dogs that is not made of harmful chemicals can be challenging.

After years of using Frontline on my Shih Tzu dogs to control those biting insects, I had a revelation that if the chemicals in this product were killing these insects, what was it doing to my dogs?

So I decided to try a different approach, something that would not have all the chemicals and preferably something that would repel these pest from getting near my boys.

What is a flea and tick tag?

Does this flea and tick repellent really work?

I have found that this little tag has worked amazingly well.  No squeezing, no spraying, and no messy liquids.  Simple attach it to his collar.

However, there are a couple of the things that you will need to know.

  1. If your dog already has fleas and ticks on him, they will have to be eliminated first.

  2. It may take about three weeks for the tag to acclimate to your pet

Don't be discouraged, this isn't as hard as it may seem.

Removing the fleas and tick can easily be done with a good natural shampoo, flea comb, tick remover tool, and a weekly bath.

The first couple weeks I noticed a pretty big difference in how many ticks were crawling on them, and absolutely no fleas.  As an added bonus, Rufus was no longer itching. Yay!

I even saw mosquitoes hovering over Max, but never making contact, and then just fly away.

It's been several months and I am thrilled with the results.  My boys have been flea free and mostly tick free too, just an occasional tick here and there, even after walking through the woods. 

And with the added benefit of being able control the ticks and fleas without the toxic chemicals.
